I was reading this People Magazine this week, May 24. Please see the cover above. Among the hot topics this week, the magazine has an ongoing weekly section called "Passages". It always chronicles the celebrities with their trials and tribulations and death notices too.
I found it totally bizarre that a sub-titled topic among others such ones as "I Do!", "Births", "Expecting" and "Legal Matters" was "NOMINATED".
What was that about? I have been reading this Hollywood rag since it first debuted over twenty-five years ago., even though fully knowing that it was mired in the typical Hollywood liberal, left wing, over-the-top socialistic ideology. LOL! I ask now, What is this "NOMINATED" category about?
I read on and could not believe what I saw, an out and out political blathering, and I quote exactly as printed, about "Calling her one of the nation's foremost legal minds," "President Obama named Solicitor General Elena Kagan as his pick to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens on May 10. If confirmed by the Senate, Kegan, 50, would be the court's youngest justice and give it three female members for the first time in history. The former Harvard Law School dean said she was "humbled" by "this honor of a lifetime."
What is up with this kind of news being printed in this kind of Hollywood rag and who reads this media for this type of esoteric political news anyway? (Not something that the common people care about anyway, at least not until their rulings affect them) Maybe, it has to do with Obama knowing these kind of people don't read too much. Maybe Obama is trying to energize his liberal, young, student, impressionable, neo-intellectual, ignorant, politically moronic, class envy, racially charged voting base to mobilize for him and his progressive causes before his next Presidential election bid. Hello, this November 2010?
