Thesarus - An Extinct Dinosaur?

Definition:
Dithering is the process of juxtaposing pixels of two colors to create the illusion that a third color is present.

So, to refer to the denotation, what the dictionary says, verses connotation, a full range of suggestions and associations of words as in a Thesaurus must be delineated to understand meaning.

President Obama is the King of Connotations, i.e., house vs. home; kill vs murder; religion vs faith, the latter being the connotations. Just because someone in self defense kills an armed intruder in their house does not mean that they murdered them; unless, some bureaucrats are trying to take the right to bear arms away from the citizenry and say that this proves that guns murder people.

What is the difference you ask? You can parse a lot of words, like "Exactly what is "is" is?" as President William Jefferson Clinton once pondered as he was in the process of being found guilty of lying. Or, as in the case of the Obama administration's botched attempt a year ago to entice Rep. Joe Sestak not to run for the Senate was arrogant and wrong, even if it was not illegal. You have to admit, Obama must have a wicked form of humor; why would he put a convicted liar up to the voters that was swearing all this happened? LOL!

Set aside whether the offer was illegal. In any case, it was an attempt to shelter a longtime senator from the challenge of a less-seasoned politician by enticing the congressman to go away. It was an attempt to deny voters a choice.

All during Obama's Presidential campaign he promised above board politics, transparency in the government process and working across the aisles for balanced debate and consensus. Again, President Obama has not prevaricated, after all Obama argued that for power brokers to talk potential challengers into backing down is not illegal and has been done many times before.

Hmmn...I better get out my thesaurus and recheck the definition for dithering. It seems that it also connotes human values too, like two wrongs don't make a right. Or is that just putting on another color to the situation?

The First Cut is the Deepest" sings Rod Stewart

Listening to Attorney General Holder, one is tempted to modify Trotsky: You may not be interested in Islam, but Islam is interested in you. Islam smells weakness at the heart of the West.

The very same day that Eric Holder was doing his “Islam? What Islam?” routine at the Capitol, the Organization of the Islamic Conference was tightening its hold on the U.N. Human Rights Council — actually, make that the U.N. “Human Rights” Council. The OIC is the biggest voting bloc at the U.N.Muslim nations share the view that Islam, in both its theological and political components, should be beyond discussion. And they will support the U.N.’s rapid progress toward, in effect, the imposition of a global apostasy law ( Apostasy when one leaves the faith) that removes Islam from public discourse which silences any discussion about what is so dangerous about Islam/Sharia Law. So, Attorney General Holder seems to be operating an advance pilot program of his own.

The casual acceptance of the phrase “the Muslim world” (“Mr. Obama’s now-famous speech to the Muslim world” — the New York Times) implicitly defers to the political ambitions of Islam. And, if there is a “Muslim world,” what are its boundaries? A profound reality today, everywhere is the answer.

Last week, the American Association of Pediatricians noted that certain, ahem, “immigrant communities” were shipping their daughters overseas to undergo “female genital mutilation.” So, in a spirit of multicultural compromise, they decided to amend their previous opposition to the practice: They’re not (for the moment) advocating full-scale clitoridectomies, but they are suggesting federal and state laws be changed to permit them to give a “ritual nick” to young girls.

A few years back, I thought even fainthearted Western liberals might draw the line at “FGM.” After all, it’s a key pillar of institutional misogyny in Islam: Its entire purpose is to deny women sexual pleasure. True, many of us hapless Western men find we deny women sexual pleasure without even trying, but we don’t demand genital mutilation to guarantee it. On such slender distinctions does civilization rest.

Der Spiegel, an impeccably liberal magazine, summed up the remorseless Islamization of Europe in a recent headline: “How Much Allah Can the Old Continent Bear?” Well, what’s wrong with a little Allah-lite? The AAP thinks you can hop on the sharia express and only ride a couple of stops. In such ostensibly minor concessions, the “ritual nick” we’re performing is on ourselves. Further cuts will follow, deeper ones!

People Magazine & The Supremes

I was reading this People Magazine this week, May 24. Please see the cover above. Among the hot topics this week, the magazine has an ongoing weekly section called "Passages". It always chronicles the celebrities with their trials and tribulations and death notices too.

I found it totally bizarre that a sub-titled topic among others such ones as "I Do!", "Births", "Expecting" and "Legal Matters" was "NOMINATED".

What was that about? I have been reading this Hollywood rag since it first debuted over twenty-five years ago., even though fully knowing that it was mired in the typical Hollywood liberal, left wing, over-the-top socialistic ideology. LOL! I ask now, What is this "NOMINATED" category about?

I read on and could not believe what I saw, an out and out political blathering, and I quote exactly as printed, about "Calling her one of the nation's foremost legal minds," "President Obama named Solicitor General Elena Kagan as his pick to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens on May 10. If confirmed by the Senate, Kegan, 50, would be the court's youngest justice and give it three female members for the first time in history. The former Harvard Law School dean said she was "humbled" by "this honor of a lifetime."

What is up with this kind of news being printed in this kind of Hollywood rag and who reads this media for this type of esoteric political news anyway? (Not something that the common people care about anyway, at least not until their rulings affect them) Maybe, it has to do with Obama knowing these kind of people don't read too much. Maybe Obama is trying to energize his liberal, young, student, impressionable, neo-intellectual, ignorant, politically moronic, class envy, racially charged voting base to mobilize for him and his progressive causes before his next Presidential election bid. Hello, this November 2010?

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain....

THE WIZARD OF OZ
"Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain. Do not arouse the wrath of the great and powerful Oz. I said come back tomorrow."

“The Wizard of Oz” is educational when it comes to understanding the Obama reforms. In that quintessential American tale, a blowhard con man dupes an entire community into believing he has power by projecting a fake image of himself inside his Emerald City castle. Working from behind the curtain, he convinces the ignorant and frightened denizens that he is the “Great and Powerful Oz,” master of the world.

Sending Dorothy and her friends on a wild goose chase for a witch’s broom buys him time, but eventually he is exposed for being an impostor, a cheap traveling medicine salesman, a person who could not stand working a forty-hour week. (Hmmn....sounds familiar)

Today, the Emerald City consists of the federal government, unions like SAIC, insurance and pharmaceutical industries such as UnitedHealth Group, Aetna, and WellPoint who foster fear for the Great and Powerful Oz . The carriers have succeeded in redefining the terms of the health care bill that no matter what specifics emerge in the voluminous bill Congress the insurance industry will emerge more profitable. These traveling con artists have roused the rabble to believe that Glenda the Good witch of Washington is out to save them. The denial of big government programs, bloated medical care, and inept government controls over the people are akin to the smoke and mirrors the Wizard of Oz used to keep himself in power.

GLENDA THE GOOD WITCH
It would be nice if the Americans who fear the Federal Government takeover would take a peek behind the curtain and see who is creating the problems that drive the current national unrest: the current administration and its policies, advertising firms paid by liberal causes, insurance companies like AARP who are not real senior citizen advocate groups and instead are Democrat fund raisers, legislators (Democratic and Republican) who profit handsomely from pandering.

Glenda the Good Witch always says, "Click your heels together three times", and says, "There is no place like home." Problem is..........you're already home and this mess is your nightmare!

Sound Economic Principles Lost on Obama

Milton Friedman wrote all my college Economic text books. I found him a true entrepreneurial spirit when it came to simplifying for me the subject of micro-economic principles. I have used them as my measure for evaluating various ideas over the years.

He died in November, 2006 at 94 years old. Below is a brief synopsis of what he championed in an obscure science, not at all understood by the liberal psyche because they never took business classes, only liberal arts and political science classes based upon feel-good solutions like sitting around the campfire singing, "Lord, kumbayah!" (Community Organizers did a lot of that)

Milton Friedman, Nobel Prize recipient, was the father of monetarism and the prophet of laissez-faire economics. It was his debunking of the economics of John Maynard Keynes which was a major factor in leading to the free market revolutions in Britain and the United States. He inspired Reagan and Thatcher. By his contribution to consumption theory, to the demand for money and to economics methodology, and to decision-making under uncertainty, he moved the economic consensus decisively to the right. For some commentators, it has not been fanciful to trace the collapse of Communism back to Friedman's teachings.

Below is a very brief 2 1/2 minute interview on the very liberal Phil Donahue Show in 1979. Ask yourself if he is speaking to us today, 31 years later? Hmmnn.................Is Obama listening too? LOL!

$1.1 Billion for more I.R.S. Agents - Obamacare & VAT Taxes

By 2016, the IRS will be required under the Obamacare legislation to monitor the health insurance status of individuals and businesses to determine if the insurance purchased as reported on tax returns meets the level of coverage required by the law.

In addition to more complicated tax returns, families and small businesses will be forced to reveal further tax information to the IRS, provide proof of 'government approved' health care and submit detailed sales information to comply with new excise taxes, i.e, VAT, Value Added Tax - rate to be determined. In cases of noncompliance; fees, penalties and imprisonment are to be assessed.

The VAT on sales is currently 17.1% in England and 25% in Scandinavian countries. Boy, aren't we all real happy that Obama did not raise the income tax on people making under $200,000? And that Obamacare is free? And just wait for the new Cap & Trade Carbon Tax soon coming up too? LOL! LOL!

The IRS could not give any indication how the Democrats' new legislation would implement the "bounty hunter" program President Obama suggested would track down abusers and collect evaded taxes on all government health programs, including Medicare and Medicaid.

Collecting taxes under the Democrats' newly passed health-care plan will cost the federal government more than $1 billion a year in IRS salaries alone according to a Congressional estimate.

The legislation will require the IRS to hire as many as 16,500 additional auditors, agents and other employees to investigate and collect billions in new taxes imposed on Americans, according to a House Committee on Ways and Means Committee report prepared March 18 for ranking members Reps. Dave Camp, R-Mich., and Charles Boustany, R-La.

In March 2009, the federal government's average annual salary was $42,035 for tax examiners, $91,507 for internal revenue agents and $63,547 for tax specialists according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics "Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2010-11 Edition."

Averaging the three pay grade averages yields an estimated $65,696 per IRS worker hired, assuming an equal number of tax examiners, internal revenue agents and tax specialists.

The Internal Revenue Service will see its largest expansion since withholding taxes were enacted during World War II to enforce the glut of new tax mandates and penalties included in the Democrats' latest health care plan.
